In light of the upcoming procurement framework in the education sector, the REC has produced a ‘one stop shop’ with all relevant information for our members. This will be updated on a regular basis, to ensure our members are kept up to date with changes as and when they happen.
(As soon as it is confirmed, we will post information here)
This is set out in the FAQ document which has been provided by CCS (see the FAQs tab).
CCS have created a procurement page that contains the Prior Information Notice and other details of the procurement exercise to source supply teachers for the public education sector.
For SME members the following guide produced by the Cabinet Office and CCS on ‘Doing business with government: guide for SMEs’ provides some useful tips on bidding for government contracts.
The glossary is an extract from an existing Crown Commercial Service invitation to tender document. The invitation to tender documents that CCS will produce will contain the information and instructions that you need to submit a tender that meets their requirements. The glossary explains some of the terminology that you may come across whilst reviewing the tender documentation and it will be useful to review the glossary before the OJEU Contract Notice is published.

The REC has held two sectors events with the CCS to give our members regular updates on the framework and the ability to pose questions directly to the CCS and DfE. These occurred on the 1 March 2017 and 13 June 2017.
For those members who were unable to attend these events, we hosted a webinar on the 28 June. A full recording of which is available here.
Part of the selection criteria to be awarded a place on the framework includes demonstrating your technical and professional capability. To ensure best practice for safeguarding and compliance in the sector, one of the requirements to supply teachers under the framework is to hold an accredited compliance product which the CCS confirmed includes REC Audited Education, alongside a number of other equivalent compliance products. (please note that an agency can be working towards this requirement when they submit their bids, but must hold the certificate to begin supplying).
Please find more information on REC Audited Education here.
