Caroline Makepeace

Director of Strategy and Transformation

Caroline joined the REC in August 2018 to lead the organisation’s strategy work. Previously, she spent six years in UK government in a range of business-focused roles, latterly as Chief of Staff and then Deputy Director India for UK Trade & Investment.  Since leaving government in 2015, she led strategy and government affairs at not-for-profit Tech City UK, before joining Daniel Korski as part of the founding team of Public, a venture that helps tech startups engage with governments.

Caroline started her career in the live entertainment team at BBC Worldwide, and still harbours a passion for the performing arts. Outside the office, Caroline is an enthusiastic classical musician and cat lover, and a trustee of Archbishop Tenison’s School.
