Collaboration is Key to Future Success for Recruiters – REC
Press releases
Recruitment and Employment Confederation (REC) chief executive Kevin Green will address 300 industry leaders today at the National Recruitment Federation (NRF) Conference, calling for more collaboration between the UK and Ireland to address common challenges.
With a high number of Fortune 100 companies, and much less market competition when compared to the UK, Ireland has recently been recognised by Staffing Industry Analysts as the most attractive place in the world for recruiters to do business.
Ahead of the conference, REC chief executive Kevin Green said:
“I’m looking forward to championing the success of the UK recruitment industry when I speak to our sister federation in Ireland, and I’m also hoping to gain more of an insight to the market conditions there so that I can share opportunities with REC members.
“Ireland comes third in the world for hiring intentions, with more than six in ten employers planning to take on more staff. But while recruiters on both sides of the Irish Sea are enjoying this period of growth, common challenges are on the horizon. Issues such as skills shortages and potential restrictions on immigration are a concern, and the industry needs to take steps now to safeguard sustainable growth in the long-term.
“Linking up with the NRF means we can share knowledge and develop common approaches so that the jobs markets in both countries remain strong and resilient.”
The REC and the NRF have been building closer links between the recruitment industries in their two home nations for several years, including sitting on judging panels for each other's annual conferences and sharing policy expertise.
The two organisations are both members of Ciett and Eurociett and are committed to working together to build and promote opportunities for growth for recruiters based in England and the Republic of Ireland.
