COVID-19 Legal FAQ: new legislation and changes to annual leave

 

We’ve had members reach out to us, asking us about the new rules surrounding annual leave.

Currently workers are entitled to 28 days of statutory annual leave per year. However, due to coronavirus the government have made changes.

The working time regulations have now been amended to allow workers to rollover 20 days of annual leave over the next two years.

This change will give businesses the extra support they need during this difficult time, whilst also protecting workers’ holiday entitlements.This change applies not only to employees, but agency workers, workers on zero-hour contracts and workers with irregular hours.
