November 2019 – a toolkit to help REC members prepare for the repeal of Swedish derogation contracts including what risks are involved.
Swedish derogation contracts are being repealed from 6 April 2020 and workers who are on those contracts will be entitled to equal pay from that date. The contracts not terminate automatically so the REC has created a toolkit for you to use to prepare for the repeal.
You can use the REC’s checklist (see 'related content') to see if the changes will apply to you and looks at how you can approach clients and manage your affected agency workers.
The REC’s Swedish derogation repeal guidance (see 'related content') is more comprehensive and explains the background to Swedish derogation contracts, what makes a valid Swedish derogation contract, how the contracts can be terminated and what risks are involved.
