The Future of jobs commission is a REC-led coalition of leading employers, academics, think-tanks, recruiters and labour market experts, chaired by Rt Hon Esther McVey MP, the now Secretary of State for Work and Pensions. The core aim is to articulate an aspirational vision for what we want the UK jobs market to look like in 2025 and to build a roadmap for getting there.
Creating an aspirational vision is one thing, delivering it is another. The commission published their findings in October 2017 in The future of jobs, which identified a number of practical recommendations to help employers, recruiters, policy makers and individuals to prepare and shape the future.
The report is not an end in itself, it signals the start of a series a future-facing activities that will help to build the kind of jobs market we want to see emerge. The REC is committed to working with policy makers and all interested parties to make this vision a reality.
