Acas publishes new advice on disability at work

Equality, Diversity and Inclusion

On 28th June Acas launched a new Disability at Work Hub as part of the government's new National Disability Strategy. This hub is designed to provide clear guidance and advice on disability employment rights for both employers and workers.

Acas Chief Executive, Susan Clews, said:

“Our new hub explains how the law protects disabled people from discrimination at work and the basic rights that they are entitled to.

“It is also a great resource for employers to help them create diverse, inclusive workplaces that are welcoming to disabled people and promotes equal opportunities for all employees."

The guidance on the hub covers:

  • reasonable adjustments
  • supporting mental health at work
  • disability discrimination
  • employment law
  • improving equality, diversity and inclusion in the workplace
  • applying protected characteristics at work
  •  coronavirus (COVID-19) guidance

This hub, and the guidance it contains, has been launched in conjunction with the Department for Business Energy and Industrial Strategy.

The full Disability at Work hub can be found here.

Our work on diversity and inclusion
