REC welcomes Welsh jobs boost
The REC has pledged its support for a new initiative to get more people in north Wales back into work.
This follows the announcement that 240 new jobs will be created in the region through the Future Jobs Fund which will bring up to £1.56 million of funding to the area. The majority of the jobs will be community-led environmental projects.
Commenting on this new job creation in the principality, Philippa George, Director for REC Wales, said: “This is a welcome boost for the Welsh jobs market and will greatly help people like young jobseekers who have been particularly badly affected by the economic climate.
“The REC has been working closely with Jobcentre Plus in Wales to help more people get back into work through a number of routes, such as temporary work, apprenticeships and work experience. We have also set up our own Youth Employment Taskforce comprising professional recruiters, leading employers and business bodies to explore practical solutions to the challenges facing young people out of work.”
