New REC Legal bulletin now available

Released on 20 January 2010

To help members keep one step ahead on regulatory and legal issues, the REC publishes its own Legal bulletin which is written and compiled by its own team of experts.

The first 2010 edition of Legal bulletin is now available and contains a comprehensive update on proposed changes to the Conduct of Employment Agencies and Employment Businesses Regulations 2003 (the Conduct Regulations), which go right to the heart of all recruitment day to day operations.

There is also an explanation of what The Provision of Services Regulations 2009 entails and how it will affect businesses that provide services to customers, including some of the services provided by recruitment agencies such as CV writing and the placement of permanent staff. The supply of temporary staff is one of the areas excluded from the new rules.

How the REC goes about inspecting members is also covered in the bulletin along with frequently asked questions and answers, which the legal team deal with on a regular basis especially through the extremely popular Legal Helpline.

A copy of the Legal bulletin, which is free to corporate members, can be downloaded from the website, http://www.rec.uk.com/legal_guide/Legalbulletin
