REC response to the Heseltine Review

Responding to the Heseltine Review, REC chief executive Kevin Green says:

“We welcome Lord Heseltine’s idea to fix the proliferation of fragmented and duplicated trade associations to provide a coordinated voice for the industry and we will work closely with the government and other trade organisations in the build-up to the deadline for establishing lead associations by 2013.

“We agree with Lord Heseltine’s recommendation that restrictions should be lifted on both recruiting for key skills and public sector pay ceilings as this would go a long way to ensuring that departments get the skills they need.”
