Planning for growth (2015)

It’s a good time to work in the recruitment industry. But to fully grasp the opportunities on offer you need the best staff. Free to REC members, this research offers an insight into the motivations and considerations of consultants and managers, so that you can make sure you match up to the competition when it comes to attracting and retaining talent.

The research shows:

  • Just over half of recruiters are satisfied with their total pay and benefits. The industry as a whole has shared revenue gains through salary increases and bonuses.
  • Just over half of all managers and consultants received a pay rise in the last 12 months.
  • And yet there is a risk that a significant proportion of managers and consultants are not happy with their pay and reward.
  • In the last 12 months recruitment firms have on average seen 8 permanent full time members of staff leave and get replaced. Recruiting to replace staff is costly and time consuming.
  • Understanding the motivations of staff and measuring how you fare in comparison to your competitors can help you reduce the high rate of turnover.
  • Alongside this, we need to promote recruitment is a career of choice so that we bring in the brightest and best.
