The Migration Advisory Committee (MAC) has issued a new call for evidence to review whether it would be sensible to fill certain subject teachers in primary and secondary schools through non-European Economic Area (EEA) migration, by whether or not they should be retained on the UK shortage occupation list. This would mean employers are not required to demonstrate that they have applied the resident labour market test in order to issue a Tier 2 certificate of sponsorship.
