In manufacturing and other sectors where ‘blue collar’ workers are employed, competitive strength often depends on process effi ciency and the extent to which costs can be controlled. Employers in the Industrial sector benefi t greatly from the flexibility that a temporary workforce provides and the control over costs that can be gained.
The Industrial sector has suffered greatly in recent years, with long term problems exacerbated by the recession, which has resulted in the loss of many jobs in the UK.
