Managed Services in Recruitment and Staffing - Volume 1
For many years the UK recruitment and staffing market has been growing
and developing new solutions for private and public sector organisations in
response to their changing staffing and resource needs.
At present, there is no information available on the size, composition or trends
within the Managed Service part of the recruitment and staffing market.
Nor is it immediately clear whether employers themselves have a clear
understanding of what they mean when requesting Managed Services,
or whether it is defined primarily by suppliers for promotional or service
The research was commissioned by the Steering Group of the REC’s Industry
Research Unit to allow greater understanding of Managed Services in
recruitment. In particular, it sought to deliver the following:
• A new framework to improve understanding of ‘Managed Services’
• Current scale and predicted growth rates
• Business and commercial drivers
• Implications for key stakeholders in the industry
This initial “scoping” research is designed to inform further, more detailed
research on all aspects of Managed Services and its implications for recruiters.
