Code of practice

Members of the REC Medical Sector Group need to abide by the REC Medical Code of Practice and by the general REC Code of Professional Practice.

These codes of practice ensure that members of the REC Medical Sector conduct business ethically to promote best practice in the industry.

What do I have to do if I want to complain about an agency?

The REC accepts complaints and queries in regards to the standards of best practice by our members. It is a condition of membership that a member agency has in place a Complaints Procedure to deal with complaints. Therefore, before referring a complaint to the REC, we would encourage you to use the Complaints Procedure operated by the REC member, a copy of which should be provided to you by the agency concerned on request. Please click here for further details.

Complaints received

In 2007, the REC received four complaints about members in the REC Medical Sector. The problems highlighted included poor communication and relevant checks not being undertaken. For more information, please read our Complaints Report for 2007.
