Kevin Green on BBC’s One Show

REC Chief Executive Kevin Green appeared on the BBC’s One Show last night in a story looking at the growth in the number of men becoming househusbands during the current recession. 

Fathers who are currently faced with the prospect of looking after their children and running the home while their wives worked spoke about their experiences and feelings about taking on this role in the current recession. 

Kevin, interviewed by Lucy Siegle, said men who were looking after the home and family did present a dilemma for recruiters especially if they were seeking work after more than six months and were pitted against another candidate who had been in continuous employment.

But he added, their role in the home would result in them attaining new skills which would ultimately prove useful and transferrable when they came to seek work again.
