REC CEO interviewed on BBC television and radio about jobs market
The publication today of the latest Report on Jobs by the REC and KPMG has resulted in Chief Executive Kevin Green being interviewed on BBC national television and radio this morning.
Though the latest report shows a continuing decrease in the number of permanent jobs, speaking on BBC Radio Five Live’s Wake Up To Money, Kevin pointed out there were still sectors such as engineering and IT which were still crying out for staff with the relevant skills and capabilities.
Kevin was then interviewed on BBC Radio Four’s Today programme, BBC Radio Scotland and appeared on the BBC News Channel.
The Report has also been extensively covered in the Financial Times, the Times, the BBC website, the Daily Telegraph website, the Evening Standard’s This Is London website and HR Magazine.
Commenting on this morning's coverage, Alison Henderson, the REC’s Press Manager, said:
“Though the current data is of interest to the Press because of the continuing slowdown in the number of permanent jobs available, it again highlights that the media views the Report as being an accurate, credible and robust monthly snapshot of the UK’s jobs market.
“We know many business correspondents have its publication as a regular date in their busy diaries and the REC is always ready to respond, often at short notice, to any requests for interviews by both the broadcast and print media. This in turn keeps the UK’s recruitment industry in the spotlight especially with Government and leading opinion formers.”
