REC training programme demystifies social media uses in recruitment
With the growing use of social media in the recruitment process, the RECwill be introducing a new series of training programmes to help recruiters get to grips with the challenges and opportunities it presents.
The programmes, scheduled to initially take place in London, Leeds and Birmingham this autumn, will take recruiters through some of the fundamentals of social media before focusing on one particular medium, LinkedIn, one of the prime channels for online recruitment.
There will be two new programmes beginning with a one day Demystifying Social and digital Media, followed by a stand alone course focusing on LinkedIn at an introductory level.
The programmes have been organised by Andrew Carr, the REC’s Head of Training. Andrew has been working in conjunction with social media recruitment experts, Steven Fine and Mark Williams.
Commenting on how recruiters can benefit from these events, Andrew Carr says:
“Feedback from REC members has shown that social media is an increasingly important part of recruitment but many recruiters may feel they are not maximising on the benefit it brings to themselves and their businesses.
“The programmes are designed to take the fear out of using social media so that it becomes an everyday, routine part of the business function rather than an additional extra which is not fully utilised.”
