REC membership can become compelling badge of honour for clients says new Council Director, Greg Latham

Released on 7 July 2011

The ongoing drive for recognition and increased professionalism within the recruitment industry can only come through rigorous compliance, says new REC Council Director Greg Latham.

Following a four-week election process which included a new on-line voting system,  Greg Latham was elected as one of  REC’s new Individual Directors at the recent Annual General Meeting.

Commenting on what he sees as the REC’s priorities in the year ahead, Greg said:

"Being an REC member must carry with it a badge of honour so that it is a compelling buying proposition for prospective clients. This can only happen through a thorough compliance regime and an effective end-user awareness campaign. Being successful in recruitment is also driven by recognising the people in the business which is why the qualifications agenda and the work of the Institute of Recruitment Professionals is so important.”

Greg Latham is the Managing Director of Encore Personnel Services Ltd, which is actively encouraging all its people to take up membership of the IRP.

Speaking about his new place on the Council, Greg added:

“I am very proud to be elected to the REC Council. I hope to use my tenure as Director to help steer the organisation forward and to identify changing priorities for  recruitment companies where the REC can make a real difference."
