REC extends deadline for Chief Examiners' applications

Released on 7 January 2011

Following a major review in 2010 of its qualifications’ portfolio, the REC is now seeking Chief Examiners who will be responsible for bringing its new qualifications to life.

Wednesday January 19 is now the final deadline for anybody working in recruitment who would like to be a part of an exciting new era in the REC’s drive towards professionalising the industry.

A background in training or education would be desirable, but the role is open to all recruitment experts who are keen to pass on their knowledge to tomorrow’s recruitment professionals.

The review was held to scrutinise the current relevance of the qualifications that had been in existence for more than 30 years in various forms to see if they were fit for purpose and what was needed to improve them further.

A programme of consultation and research was undertaken involving feedback from hundreds of recruitment professionals on the future qualifications framework.

John Cunningham, the REC’s Head of Qualifications, said:

“Now that the process is complete, we would like to harness the experience of recruiters who want to assist us in delivering the new-look qualifications to the next generation of recruitment professionals. This is a very exciting opportunity for anybody who wants to be in at the start of the next phase of the REC’s professional development programme.”

The Chief Examiners will be responsible for prescribed units in the new qualifications. Further information about the roles can be obtained at:  http://www.rec.uk.com/academy-for-business/qualifications/qualsreview/CEs.
