REC extends deadline to August 11 for qualifications review comments

Released on 29 July 2010

The REC has announced it is extending the deadline for its qualifications review consultation until August 11.

This is to allow those working within recruitment and other interested sectors such as HR to have a chance to make their comments which will help the REC’s Academy for Business shape its official qualifications to meet the ever-changing needs of the industry.

Since May, the REC has sought the opinions of REC and IRP members and non-members alike.

The consultation has also been one of the workshop subjects during the Rethink and Rebuild your Business regional events the REC has been staging this year.

Judith Armatage, the REC’s Director of Professional Development, says:

“Qualifications are fundamental to taking the industry forward in terms of professionalism and external perception. We have been delighted with the level of support the review has been given from hundreds of recruiters representing various industry sectors, levels of experience and differing perspectives.

"This review is about helping recruiters to understand and deliver real added value to their agencies, clients and candidates. The practical input we have received so far has already proved invaluable in helping us shape a qualifications programme for the future.”

Tens of thousands of students over the past 25 years have taken the REC’s examinations.
