REC launches Holiday Pay Calculator
The REC has introduced a new tool that will enable recruiters to help calculate accurately holiday pay for temporary workers whose entitlements are different to those of a permanent employee.
The Holiday Pay Calculator, available to REC corporate members and members of the Institute of Recruitment Professionals, will calculate not only the number of days a worker has accrued but also the total hours and monetary amount.
Lewina Farrell, the REC’s Senior Solicitor and Commercial Advisor, said: “The REC’s free legal helpline continues to receive a large number of questions on holiday pay. The Holiday Pay Calculator helps our members make a swift and accurate calculation on the amount of holiday pay owing to an agency worker.”
Presently, a permanent employee will accrue the statutory entitlement of 5.6 weeks holiday over the full 52 weeks of the year. Temporary workers however will only accrue their entitlement while they are working.
