We are delighted to announce that the IM Awards 2008 are being judged by the following people:
Richard Donkin
Financial Times columnist and author
Richard Donkin is an international author, speaker and commentator on work and management. For the past 14 years he has been employment and recruitment columnist for the Financial Times. His book, Blood, Sweat and Tears, The Evolution of Work, was published by Texere in the UK and US in 2001. Today Richard is pursuing an independent writing and consulting career.
He is a fellow and council member of the Royal Society for The Encouragement of Arts, Manufactures and Science and a trustee of Earthwatch Europe, an international environmental charity. He also has visiting fellowships in management at Cass Business School and Henley Management College. He can be contacted through his web site: richarddonkin.com.
David Head
Publisher, Recruitment International
Known and respected throughout the world of recruitment, David Head has been associated with the industry for more than 21years. As the publisher of Recruitment International magazine, David has a unique insight into the world of recruitment and the companies and individuals who operate in it. Recruitment International is the UK’s longest established magazine and is recognised for its news, articles and anti recruitment-2-recruitment policy. Above all Recruitment International stands for good practice within the industry. David also publishes leading industry research, produces a daily news feed as well as running The World Leaders in Recruitment Conference, The Recruitment Industry Mergers & Acquisitions Conference, Regional Forums and an industry Charity Football Competition – all pioneering ideas and innovations. Recent innovations are a charity golf day and highly prestigious networking events. In 2007 Recruitment International launched its own unique style of industry Awards whereby the entrants did not have to pay to enter – a revolutionary concept. David is Vice Chairman of the Charity, Link Leisure and also helps run Woking Boys Football Club. He is also unemployable.
Anita Holbrow
REC, Marketing Director
Anita Holbrow has an impressive career spanning nearly 2 decades, operating as a dynamic and inspirational business leader within a governmental and commercial environment. A formidable strategic thinker and analyst who has inspired and lead organizations and individuals successively to achieve stretching goals, Anita has an impressive portfolio beginning her career as a Finance Manager for a small company.
Following this Anita moved to BT and then into Government driving forward a string of successful, innovative public private partnership projects centred on recruitment, retention, talent acquisition and intermediate labour markets.Her final role within government (Head of Partner Division) saw Anita develop and implement a highly successful national public-private partnership strategy between the UK private recruitment industry and Jobcentre Plus, successfully creating major access routes and pathways to talent whilst establishing a model for customized recruitment partnerships with partners such as Reed, Blue Arrow, CSG, Adecco, Randstad and Pertemps.
Anita is recognised as an authority in this area and is a sought after commentator on the pivotal role that the recruitment marketplace makes on the UK economy, and has spent some time in Europe discussing the UK model with other economies. Anita has been in her current role as Director within the REC since March 2006.
Mick James
Mick James is the editor of Recruitment Matters, the magazine of the Recruitment and Employment Confederation. A freelance journalist and business writer, has has also edited Management Consultancy magazine, Management Consultants News, Recruiter and is contributing editor of Top-Consultant.com. His work has appeared in the Evening Standard, Marketing Week, Computer Weekly, and Information Security amongst other titles and he is the author of several management reports and surveys including the Winning New Business in Professional Services series for Policy Publications and a forthcoming series of reports for the Management Consultancies Asociation.
In 1998 he founded Redhouse Media, which provides writing, editing and media consultancy to firms in the professional services arena.
Phil McMullen
Editor, Recruitment Consultant
Philip McMullan is editor of leading monthly staffing title Recruitment Consultant. Previously editor of Professional Recruiter he has covered the UK recruitment market for the past nine years. He was previously a legal journalist editing specialist title Employment Law Journal and contributing to national publications including Legal Business and The Legal 500. Philip has acted as an awards judge for the Recruitment and Employment Confederation (REC), the Association of Technology Staffing Companies (ATSCo) and the National Online Recruitment Awards (NORA). He is a regular speaker on recruitment and employment issues at conferences and events.
