Lincolnshire IT specialist Richard Thomas is in the running to be crowned One in a Million, the title given to the UK’s top temporary, contract or interim worker.

Richard has won the IT Contractor of the Year category of the One in a Million Award.

Nominated by global recruitment specialist Spring Technology for whom Richard has been working since August 2005, Richard has been engaged on a series of projects with Jaguar and Land Rover at their Warwickshire base. His role there has been twofold  - as the Infrastructure Delivery Project Manager and as  Business Interface Manager with Ford for whom he worked in a series of senior IT roles.

His vast previous experience in IT within the automotive industry has earned him the nickname the Jedi from one of his younger colleagues at JLR.

Richard works four days a week at JLR where he stays in lodgings close to the plant then returns home to do voluntary work at his local Sue Ryder shop where his role includes pricing up books, records and CDs.
