London maternity nurse Myriam Miller is in the running to be crowned One in a Million, the title given to the UK’s top temporary, contract or interim worker.
Myriam has won the Agency Childcare Worker of the Year category of the One in a Million Award.
Nominated by London-based recruitment agency Top Notch Maternity with whom she has been registered for nearly seven years, Myriam comes from the Ivory Coast.
Working as an agency maternity nurse, she said, enabled her to give a 100 per cent commitment to the families she helps especially those with new born babies.
One family she helped said: “It was reassuring for the whole family to know that we were in extremely good hands and indeed, we felt as though we were able to approach Myriam at any time of day or night.”
Top Notch Maternity say she has a gift for baby care, being so gentle and calm and able to fit in with the needs of every family she helps.
Jean Birtles of Top Notch said: “We are so proud of Myriam not just because of her exceptionally high standard of work and the care she provides to families but because she is one of those people who help make the world a better place simply for being the person she is.”
Helen Reynolds, the REC’s Deputy Chief Executive Officer, said: “Myriam obviously has an extremely special gift and working for an agency gives her flexibility in her work schedule to share her wisdom and love of babies with many families.”
