Droitwich nursery nurse and nanny Linda Holloway has been declared one of the UK’s top temporary workers.

Linda was awarded the highly commended prize in the Agency Childcare Worker category of the One in a Million Award given to the UK’s top temporary worker.

Linda of Monnow Close, Droitwich, was nominated by recruitment agency, Tinies Childcare @ Three Counties based at Castlemorton Common near Malvern for whom she has been working for three and a half years.

In that time, she has taken on numerous temporary nanny, babysitting and nursery positions across Worcestershire.

Among her assignments has been as a temporary nanny with social services, assisting with the nurturing of an extremely young mother following childbirth. Linda taught her how to look after her flat and her baby and to manage her money, offering her 24 hour care for the first two months.

Currently, she is covering maternity leave at a hospital nursery where she is considered to be one of the staff.

Jodie Evans of Tinies Childcare said of Linda: “She takes great pride in her work and always plans a range of activities for the children in her care. She is a hard working, caring, supportive child carer who just loves looking after children and their families.”

Linda has chosen to be a temporary worker because she says she likes the variety of going into different settings and meeting different people. It also allows her to be flexible and work around her own commitments.

Helen Reynolds, the REC’s Acting Chief Executive Officer, said: “Linda has shown how through her love of children and their families, she really does make a difference especially to those in greatest need. “
