REC Agency Summit II
The
REC Agency Summit involved over 400 delegates in a mass consultation on the UK implementation of the EU Agency Workers Directive and in the launch of some critical new research on the future employment landscape and building better relationships between agencies and employers.
Representatives from all sectors of the recruitment industry provided feedback on the draft recommendations that the REC’s Agency Work Commission will submit to Government over the next few weeks. Speaking after the Summit, REC Chief Executive Kevin Green said:
“We are hugely encouraged by the positive feedback from delegates and by the fact that we are able to present a united front on this crucial issue. The Summit confirmed that the industry is fully mobilised in coming up with practical solutions to making equal treatment regulations workable in the UK.”
The event also included the interim findings from the REC’s Future of Employment Working Group (FEWG) and the launch of high-profile new report by the REC Industry Research Unit in conjunction with the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD). The report focused on practical models for enhancing the relationship between employers and agencies and is the latest demonstration of the REC’s work to build links and raise the REC profile amongst the employer community.
