Run and Grow a Successful Recruitment Business
When?
26 July 2012
- 9.30am - 1.pm
Where? Manchester, Venue TBC

We know it’s tough out there: Running a successful recruitment business isn’t easy at the best of times - but, with the current economic challenges, a constantly changing recruitment landscape, and ever increasing external pressures, it can seem harder than ever. One thing is for certain: what worked yesterday won’t necessarily work today…or tomorrow.
The REC is proud to present this, the first in our series of ‘Ask the Expert’ workshops: We want you to have access to the best industry experts in their field, people who can give real, meaningful advice and share concepts that really work in today’s market.

What’s covered?
- Growth drivers: We’ll share with you the common sense approach used by owners of the fastest growing businesses.
- Business growth and analyses models: We’ll help you to know how to: squeeze every opportunity from existing business relationships; identify new opportunities for the future; and avoid becoming a victim of external forces.
- How to identify your strategy and resource deficiencies: We’ll give you guidance on deciding how you’d like your future business to look and feel (from your external and internal customers’ perspective) and the appropriate differentiators you will use to achieve that vision.
- Measure, manage and maximise your business potential: Last but not least, we’ll explain essential basic business disciplines employed in the most successful businesses in our industry.
Know where you’re going, plan how to get there and go! Without exception, successful, growing businesses are led by people who are strategic in their approach. We show you how to work ON your business and not just IN it, so that you can recognise and make the most of current opportunities and shape your organisation’s future.
Our facilitator: Denise Walker FIRP (www.absolutelybusiness.co.uk) has worked in the Recruitment Industry since 1986, as a recruiter, manager, owner, director, management consultant, trainer and coach. She specialises in improving the effectiveness of individuals, groups and organisations, to facilitate sustainable business growth. To date, she has worked with recruitment businesses in numerous sectors, including: HR, IT, Charity, Finance, Sales, Hospitality, Marketing, Construction, PA, Training, Industrial, PR, Retail, Teaching, Pharmaceutical and Science.
Target audience and delivery style: Aimed at owners and senior managers of SMEs, this interactive 3½ hour workshop includes presentation of the key business concepts, group exercises and participant discussion and sharing of ideas. It is suitable for those that are new to strategic planning and ‘old hands’ looking for a refresher and new tips to use. Most importantly, we aim to inspire you to use this as a springboard to start your own strategic planning project for your business.
