In an ongoing uncertain economic climate the importance of being able to tell your clients that you have something different can be the difference between securing that lucrative contract or just falling short.

Consider how impressed your clients would be if you could tell them “my entire team has completed a qualification from the recruitment industry’s main trade association. This means that they have all achieved a level of understanding and ability to ensure we can place the right candidate for your role”.

The REC has re-launched its qualifications in 2011 to ensure that they remain the most up-to-date and relevant for your staff - which will enable you to be able to win more business as a result.

REC qualifications are now tied in with the Institute of Recruitment Professionals (IRP), which means that if your staff are not already IRP Members, completing IRP qualifications will give them access to the industry’s leading institute.

Qualifications vary from the entry level Certificate in Recruitment Practice, through to the Diploma in Recruitment Practice and the Masters in Recruitment Practice, giving your staff a clear stairway to success in recruitment.

So what other benefits do your business get from your staff becoming qualified?

1. Improved knowledge from your staff on legislative issues in the industry – this means they will be able to discuss with confidence to their clients about the industry, impressing your clients and positioning your staff as ‘trusted advisors’
2. Better selling ability of your team – As part of the syllabus of the Certificate in Recruitment Practice, consultants are tested on their abilities to become more effective fee earners by addressing key competencies such as objection handling
3. Show your staff you invest in them – By enrolling your staff in IRP qualifications, you show them that you are committed to their career, increasing the likelihood that they will want to stay and develop with your business
4. Using IRP and REC on your collateral and bid tender documents – within information that you submit to show why your clients should work with you, including that all of your staff are qualified through the IRP shows clients that you have something different from your competitors
5. Qualifications can be completed at your office – There are many different ways in which your staff can study for IRP qualifications, some of which include being able to undertake the qualifications at your own office location through In-Company Training.
