  • Promoting the interests of REC members to politicians and officials in the UK and across Europe.
  • Spokesperson for the REC and liaising with press.
  • Formulating REC policy in key areas including employment, healthcare and procurement.
  • Managing the Employment Policy Committee and member involvement through working groups and regional forums.
  • Working with REC sector groups and regional directors on lobbying and press campaigns
  • Representing the REC on the board of Eurociett, the representative body for the recruitment industry across Europe and on various Government committees.

  • Managing outsourced PR agency responsible for national and sector press in tandem with responsibility for output to trade
    and regional titles
  • Developing press material for media and REC website
  • Providing PR support for all REC departments on key campaigns
    and initiatives
  • Assisting and advising REC members on PR activities

Key areas of responsibility:

  • Work on a range of policy issues affecting the recruitment industry including agency working, the relationship with Jobcentre Plus, pre-employment checking, skills, immigration and other labour market issues;
  • Represent the interests of the REC to stakeholders through a diverse range of different panels and working groups across Government departments;
  • Assist in ensuring REC have a high profile in the press;
  • Account manage 12 volunteer REC regional directors who represent the REC at a regional level;
  • Oversee a DWP initiative to help newly unemployed professionals get back into work;
  • Organise a quarterly forum aimed at promoting diversity and inclusion in the recruitment industry.
