REC Strategy 2013 - 2017
Developing the REC’s strategy for 2013-2017
The REC has a strong vision and strategy which was developed at the end of 2008 to cover the four year period from 2009-2012. This vision has been a great source of clarity for staff and members; it defines our purpose and what we focus on. It guides the development of yearly business plans and work programmes. It has been effectively communicated, universally welcomed and consistently adopted.
Throughout 2012 we are developing the next four year vision and strategy to guide the organisation through 2013-2017 and beyond. We’re developing our offer for the next four years and value input from you, our members.
You have previously told us that:
• The REC offer is good value for money
• We do a good job in understanding member needs & the recruitment industry
• You get more value the more you engage with REC
• External accreditation is the major reason for joining the REC
• The legal helpline and terms of business is a major reason to stay a member
• You want to know more about REC paid for services
• You want a more tailored offering based on your company size and the sector you operate in
Our market research helped us to shape our propositions. We’ve conducted detailed industry analysis and market research to help us predict the future direction and trends for recruitment in the UK and worldwide so that we can tailor our offer to support you better in years to come.
Taking REC corporate membership forward:
We plan to, over the next four years:
• Continue our mission to improve standards throughout the recruitment industry by expanding our membership into currently less regulated areas of the recruitment industry.
• Include essential products and services within your membership so it’s clearer what you’re entitled to and they are easier to access.
• Improve the member experience by enhancing our account management, website and member communications so you get more value from your membership.
• Continue to grow our membership.
Taking the Institute of Recruitment Professionals forward:
We plan to, over the next four years:
• Achieve official recognition for those who abide by our industry standards by gaining chartered status for IRP.
• Grow IRP internationally – one global standard allows the REC to invest more in services at home in the UK.
Taking our services forward:
We plan to, over the next four years:
• Make finding and booking business support, qualifications and training easier via a user-friendly online purchasing system.
• Enhancing the Business Partner offering by partnering with commercial organisations on your behalf to secure special discounts and offers for you as REC Members.
Our Progress
We are continuing to develop the 2013 - 2017 Strategy and will provide an update on the strategy once complete.
