REC Compliance Test

Why do I have to take the test?

The Compliance Test has been introduced in order to assess your knowledge of the relevant industry legislation and the REC Code of Professional Practice.  By doing this the REC can determine if new applicants can become full  members and existing members may renew their membership.

What does the test look like?

The online Compliance test consists of a series of questions in a multiple choice format,  which cover the key requirements of industry legislation and the REC’s Code of Professional Practice.
The test has been designed so that members/applicants only answer questions that relate to the type of business they operate in eg. if an agency only does permanent recruitment, they will only answer questions that relate to this. The test can be done over a twenty four hour period to enable the member/applicant to run their recruitment business  and also to research any relevant test subject areas.

To pass the test the member/applicant must get at least 75% correct and answer all “red flag” questions.   Red flag questions ‘must ‘be answered correctly.  The number of questions range between   30 and 57 depending on the business type(s) selected.
