I’m a client wishing to use an MMC agency – what to do I need to think about?
When you work with any of our member agencies you can expect a professional and consultative service. Many MMC consultants have worked in the industry they recruit for prior to becoming recruitment consultants. It is difficult to put a definitive time scale on the recruitment process for a role, sometimes it can take a matter of days and other times it could be months, depending on the climate and the candidate availability. Your consultants will advise you on the current market and should provide you with a rough timeframe, though this is always an estimate. In order to use your time effectively, we would recommend that you brief two or three agencies and work closely with them to achieve the best possible results.
I’m a candidate wanting to work in MMC related areas – any tips?
- To apply for roles in the areas the MMC members cover, applicants should have a passion for their chosen area and keep up to date with the current trends
- Excellent writing, research, awareness and communication skills are also required
- CVs submitted for MMC sectors should reflect your interest and knowledge of the specific areas and should be accompanied with a cover note explaining why you feel you are suited to this role/career
- A degree in PR, design, media, arts or equivalent is often advantageous so that you already have an understanding or avid appreciation of the industry. For more specific sectors (e.g. healthcare PR or financial PR) a related degree (e.g. science for healthcare, business for financial) is beneficial
