Established in its current form in September 1993, the IT & Comms Sector Group currently has over 160 members committed to raising standards across the industry.
Membership of the sector group is subject to strict membership criteria and procedures.
The IT & Comms Sector Group's Mission is:- To represent the IT and Communications recruitment industry, both within the REC and more importantly to the IT community, including organisations who use IT, individuals who work in IT and IT recruitment companies.
The IT & Comms Group’s Vision is:
- To set increasingly high standards of professional practice and ethical values throughout the industry;
- To be the focal point for the communication and supply of information throughout the industry;
- To ensure our policies reflect the views and needs of our members;
- To promote our views to both government and industry;
- To strengthen our standing as the recognised representative body for the IT and Communications recruitment industry.

IT & Comms Chair and Executive Committee
The IT & Comms Group has a Chair, elected from within the membership, and an Executive Committee who meet quarterly to discuss upcoming issues relevant to IT & Comms agencies and to progress and promote the Group. The Executive Committee is made up of volunteers from with the Sector Group Membership.

Account Manager
Carol Scott is the Account Manager for IT & Comms. In her role as IT & Comms Sector Group Account Manager she is responsible for:
- Coordinating communications between the Chair and the Executive Committee and the staff at the REC;
- Planning, coordinating and executing all activities and events.
- Assisting the Chair and Executive Members with their responsibilities;
- Communicating to members the activities of the Sector Group.
