The Recruitment & Employment Confederation - The Voice of the Recruitment Industry

Diversity and Inclusion Forum

The purpose of the Diversity Forum is to obtain an overview of the key principles and issues in equality and diversity and to relate those to the recruitment industry. This includes looking at market trends and looking at the various changes in legislation such as the Government's proposals for a new Equality Bill.

Another purpose is to look at the role the recruitment industry can play in promoting diversity and equality issues. As our industry touches upon almost all areas of the UK economy, recruitment companies are well placed to encourage good practice in the wider labour market. The forum is also used a sounding board for REC diversity initiatives and to lead the REC in this area. It considers how to apply the principles and practices of equality and diversity for the benefit of the recruitment industry.

The Forum is held four times a year and plays host to interested speakers and stakeholders. In 2008 the Forum will be held on the following dates:

25th March
24th June
30th September
16th December
