Agency Summit - June 2008
The REC’s first-ever ‘Agency Summit’ provided a forum for members to voice their opinions and quiz experts over how proposed new equal treatment regulations could impact on the UK industry. The event also focused on some of the other major developments and trends that that are likely to shape the agency work landscape over the next five years.
Panel discussions included representatives from the CBI, TUC, CIPD, KPMG, LBA, Eurociett (the European representative body for the industry) and from the leading think tank Demos. The summit was also addressed by Kevin Green, the REC’s new Chief Executive.
‘National Temporary Workers Week’ is all about recognising and celebrating the contribution of temporary and contract workers in all sectors of the UK economy. Within this context, the principle of equal treatment is perhaps one that we can live with, as long as the final version of any EU Directive include the flexibility and clarity we need to make it workable in the UK.
The event was co-sponsored by LBA – the specialised consultancy on the valuation of sale of recruitment businesses - and by Moneypenny – Providers of outsourced receptionist cover.
