News

We’ve just published the Annual Industry Turnover & Key Volumes survey 2007 in association with Lloyds TSB Commercial Finance and Recruitment Consultant magazine. The Report shows the period ending April 2007 saw strong performance in the sector with total turnover increasing by 7.4% to £26.65bn. Further key metrics from the report are highlighted in the ‘stats’ bank below and copies of the full report are available from the research bookshop: Click here.

The first in a series of Regional Profiles for recruiters is now available as a FREE download. The Profiles summarise useful labour market information (from government sources and the Unit’s own research) in a format specifically designed for recruiters. The first Profile covers Wales. Separate profiles on Northern Ireland and London will be published later this year. All other regions will be covered in 2008. Click here.

The joint project with CIPD is progressing well. It will be looking at providing a best practice framework for helping employers and agencies work more effectively together. MORI has been appointed as the projects research partner and a number of employer focus groups are planned for the next few weeks.

Detailed new research looking at the role agencies can play in supporting lone parents into work will be published in early December. It’s been commissioned by the Unit from Manchester University.

Results from the first wave of research looking at users of recruitment websites will be published by the Unit shortly. Agencies can participate in the research and have their website benchmarked by contacting Alisdair Cartwright at Enhance Media:

Insight

“The Demos pamphlet (Recruitment 2020, the future of recruitment and why it matters) was sent to me and I thought it was excellent – it contains some very valid points … and makes a useful contribution to the current debate.”
